Olema & Local Tips
Plan extra travel time. Olema is a small, scenic town with winding roads with occasional limited cell service, so please allow extra time to arrive, especially if you’re driving from San Francisco or the East Bay.
Expect coastal weather (aka layers are your friend). Even in July, Olema can be cool and foggy especially in the evening.
Book lodging and dinner reservations early. Summer is peak season in Point Reyes and nearby accommodations and restaurants fill up quickly.
Make a weekend of it! If you’re staying nearby, enjoy Point Reyes National Seashore, local hiking, beaches, oyster farms, and charming coastal towns are all worth a visit.
