We are celebrating our 5th year of marriage (6th at this point; thanks COVID) by renewing our vows with those we love and who have become the glue to our relationship. We have met so many beautiful people since we got married and it is hard to believe they weren’t at our wedding. These people, and those who have been there all along — some even before we (The Funk’s) ever met, have added such value and richness to our world. If you are reading this, YAY! You found our website! You have made an irreplaceable impact on us. Both as individuals, keeping us as healthy as we can be, thriving and meeting needs in which a spouse could never do alone; or as a couple, being our cheerleaders, holding us accountable to honor our commitment to one another and loving us and the dynamic that we offer the world as a team. We want to commemorate this time of our marriage, the past six years and look forward to the gifted years to come. We have found the importance in remembering. It helps us celebrate and see how far we have come—through all of the highs and the lows, the differences we have learned to live with, and even celebrate and admire! We want to remember it all with you. You are time stamps of our lives and you are the treasure that makes us rich. The Funks love you! We want to share each of you with the other and celebrate how yall are our MVPs! Thank you for getting us to year five (six)! Let’s keep going! Besides, who doesn't like to party? If you have any questions, please be sure to reach out to either one of us!
As the invitation suggested, we want to display the beauty, creativity and passions of our people! If you are a musician: We are going to have a piano, guitar and sound equipment available at the venue, but feel free to bring your own. If you are a visual artist: The loft space itself is setup like a gallery to facilitate art display. But this is not just for our visual or performing artist friends, this is for anything you are passionate about! Creativity manifests in different ways. Examples: If you are a photographer (David Lawrence) and would like to either take photos there or display your work. If you are a carpenter (Frank Tenney) and would like to/could practically bring a piece of work you have created If you brew your own beer (Alex Soper) bring some to share! If you have knowledge about wine (Jason Sanneman) to bring your favorite bottle and share about it. If you are a singer or songwriter (Landon Pontius). If you write poetry and have always wanted to share your words by having them printed or speak them. If you have spreadsheets to share because you love crunching numbers and find budgeting riveting, bring them! Some have multiple gifts and talents (Jeannie Albers); share the one that means the most to you! If you have business cards that accompany your passions, would help us know where to find more of your work and how to contact you when this night is done, please bring those too. This is about connecting, sharing, and celebrating the intrinsic, divine beauty in humanity, but not just any ole humans, our favorites! *We are enamored with you, just for who you are, and want others to see why--whether or not you have something to offer. So please do not feel like you have to participate. Your presence is enough. If you would be willing to share, please let one of us know ASAP so we can formulate a proper timeline and itinerary.
From LL: A lot of my thoughts have changed and shifted, but I still enjoy reading 25-year-old-me and how I viewed the world when I met my Dr. Funk. I love recounting us. I love seeing how far we have come and realizing by looking back, how far we have to go. We are ever changing and evolving and I am just so thankful that it has been with one another and with you, our friends and family. Thank you for loving us well.
