Back in May of 2015, Gavin had been promoted to a Grocery Team Leader at the Publix located on 53rd street and US Highway 1. It wasn't until late July of 2016, during a Publix charity bowling event, that Ljubi took notice of Ayden (Gavin's son, two years old) and absolutely adored him. Ljubi then took notice of Gavin himself and found herself stepping out of her comfort zone and asking Gavin if he wanted to join her for a run at Riverside. Little did Ljubi know that Gavin had a very strict "No Publix Girls" dating policy, but regardless, Gavin joined her for the run, followed by an ice cream at Kilwins, and ending with a very awkward side hug. A few days later, they met again for a run and then went over to Jaycee Beach and walked the boardwalk for hours. They talked about likes, dislikes, fears, dreams, their favorite condiments, and deep portions of their past. After that night, the rest was history. They both knew that there was something special between them that would not go away. So they continued their runs and walks which eventually turned into dinner dates, family playground dates, and so much more!
Gavin had made an elaborate plan to propose at our Housewarming party in front of all of our Family and Friends, but Hurricane Dorian had other plans causing us to postpone the party. Instead of letting the plans get ruined like they always do, Gavin decided instead to go through with the proposal on his actual birthday and our 3 year anniversary (August 30th, 2019). We had made plans to go to Big Shots Golf with family and close friends to celebrate Gavin's birthday and then go to my parent's house afterwards for cake and presents. When we got back to the house, we went straight to the living room for presents. Gavin received his birthday gifts and then proceeded to give me a bag as an anniversary gift. When I opened the bag a note inside said "look down". When I did, I saw Gavin on one knee with a huge smile on his face holding a beautiful rose gold and white gold engagement ring. He proceeded to say something along the lines of "even though our plans ALWAYS get messed up or moved, he wasn't going to let a silly hurricane stop him from finally asking me to be his wife." Afterwards, the surprises weren't over. My sister then popped out from around the corner which meant the world to me because it was extremely important that she be there. And to top it all off, Gavin had a cake made with a quote from my favorite TV show "The Office" that said "1,578,000 minutes, I actually sat down and did the math". The number actually represents the amount of time we had known each other. It was the most magical night I've ever had to this day and I can't wait to say "I do"!
