Their story began in 2017, though Lena had been admiring Lizzy from afar for a year (some might even say stalking, but Lena prefers "appreciative observation"). Finally, she worked up the courage to ask for Lizzy's number. Lena, admittedly a little better in person than via text (a fact Lizzy now teases her mercilessly about), inadvertently ghosted Lizzy! But Lizzy wasn’t having it. The minor texting mishap led to a pivotal moment: Lizzy, the adored host of a local queer comedy bingo night, invited Lena to a show. Lena accepted, and their story truly began. From that night on, they've been inseparable, navigating life's adventures (and occasional misadventures), exploring the world together, and welcoming their adorable dog, Leon, into their family. During a trip to Italy for a friend's wedding, Lena proposed, sealing their commitment. While they would have loved a larger celebration, the current political climate inspired them to prioritize their joy, leading them to their intimate wedding on 1/11/25.
