It all started in their teenage glory when Brice and Lizzy met 5 years ago during their junior year of high school. They were in many classes together including biology where they were lab partners. As their high school years flew by they enjoyed watching basketball games, performing in show choir, and Lizzy loved to cheer for #29 on the football field. After they conquered the year 2020, they both graduated from Spirit Lake High School. Then, both went on to college where Brice studied to become a Police Officer and Lizzy as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Both are happily working in these fields, Brice in Rock Valley, IA and Lizzy in Spirit Lake, IA. Their beautiful relationship grew through the years and the rest is history.

Brice drove to Spirit Lake in the early morning of November 8th after working a 12-hour night shift. Brice told Lizzy he was going shopping that morning when in reality Brice had arranged to meet Lizzy's mom for coffee where he asked for her blessing to marry her daughter and meet his mom to tell her his plans. At this point, Lizzy had no idea of what was to come later that day. Throughout the day, Brice began to ask Lizzy when she'd be off work and if she wanted to go walk on their favorite trail where they spent a lot of time fishing, bird watching, and hiking during summer months. This was the beginning of Lizzy's wonder. Later that day, Lizzy got ready for her walk. She curled her hair and dressed in not-so-appropriate walking attire because of the small thought in her mind of Brice proposing. When Brice and Lizzy arrived at the trail and began their walk, Brice was continuously texting his "coworker" and Lizzy continued to wonder but didn't say anything. As Brice and Lizzy approached the bridge, they both looked out the over algae-covered water and beautiful fall colors that spread throughout the trees. At this point, Brice knelt on one knee and asked her to marry him. It was perfect. Brice's sister and Lizzy's mom were there, hiding behind the trees in the distance. After the proposal and many pictures, they all went out to eat with their families to celebrate the exciting and life changing news!
