While we obviously can't guarantee anything, it should be pretty easy to get an uber/lyft etc. from PWM to camp. Going the other way might be trickier. Since camp is in a somewhat remote area, rideshare drivers are not typically hanging around. We HIGHLY recommend pre-scheduling your rideshare if you need to get to PWM for a flight.
Whether you are staying at Kingsley Pines or not, guests are welcome to arrive any time after 2PM on Thursday, June 11. Everyone must check in at the main office upon initial arrival to sign a waiver. Once you've signed the waiver, you can come and go as you please.
Yes! Camp is for all wedding guests to enjoy, the more the merrier! We plan to have all kinds of fun activities and plenty of lounging by the lake (which has an epic rope swing), so please come hang out with us from Thursday evening through Sunday morning. You are also welcome to eat any of the snacks and food we'll have at camp, but you'll have to provide your own beverages.
There is a large camp cafeteria and plenty of outdoor picnic tables where we hope everyone will gather for meals. Guests will have access to the industrial kitchen, to include a large walk-in fridge, sink, oven, and large outdoor grills, but NO access to stove top burners. If you are putting food in the walk-in fridge, please be sure to label it with your name! Those who are driving in are encouraged to bring coolers so we don't run out of space in the fridge - there's an ice machine so you can refill your coolers. Wedding party – you will have access to a mini-fridge in your lodging
While we won't be providing hot meals three times a day, we do plan on supplying some food. Everyone is welcome to the food provided by us at Kingsley Pines. Camp has a kitchen and dining hall where we invite everyone to eat their meals, regardless of where the food comes from or where you are staying. We plan to set up a couple of tables with communal foods and snacks that anyone can grab at any time of the day. There are also cute nearby towns with cafés and restaurants, so if you like to check out the restaurant scene when you are in a new place, go for it! We know some guests will be flying in and ride-sharing to camp, so we wanted to make sure we had options on hand for them. Please see the Kitchen amenities FAQ for more information.
Thursday No meals will be provided on Thursday, but the communal snack table will be set up. If you are arriving that day, think about stopping at a grocery store or restaurant on your way into camp. We plan to use one of the big camp grills and eat dinner outside if the weather is nice, so join us if you can! We plan to make some extra burgers and dogs for people who can't get dinner elsewhere. Friday At breakfast we will have hot tea and hot & cold coffee options. For food we'll have items like bagels, muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, granola, pastries, fruit, etc. For lunch Friday we're planning to get a bunch of pizzas, including some gluten-free pizzas. Dinner Friday will be GYO (get your own), as the wedding party and immediate family will be having a rehearsal dinner before the campfire. There will likely be leftovers from grilling the night before, or leftover pizza, and you can always snack from the communal table. And then join us for s’mores and snacks at the campfire! Saturday Breakfast will be same as Friday No specific lunch plans on Saturday. Feel free to eat grilling or rehearsal dinner leftovers and to eat from the communal snack table Dinner will be provided at the wedding reception! Sunday Breakfast will be the same as Friday and Saturday plus some hot items like quiches, frittatas (gluten free) and bacon. Guests must leave by 11am, so this will be the last meal at camp.
Throughout the weekend (Thu-Sun) EXCEPT for the wedding event itself, beverages will be BYOB style for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is allowed at camp so feel free to enjoy your mini-vacation :) During the official wedding event on Saturday from the ceremony until the bartenders leave for the night, alcohol must be served by a licensed bartender. Once they leave and the official event is over, you can feel free to serve yourselves again. We plan to have an after-party campfire.
Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors under the big oak tree by the waterfront. Cocktail Hour will be outdoors on the porch and area surrounding the Lodge. The reception will take place indoors in a large barn, with an outdoor seating/hanging area. After party will be back inside the Lodge with a cozy fire in the fireplace (wear your flannel!).
Summers in Maine are beautiful! The average high in June during the day is 73, with lows in the mid 50's. Bring some warmer clothing for the early mornings and later evening/night. If you are staying at camp, an extra blanket would be a good idea too.
Yes - there's plenty of parking for both people staying at Kingsley Pines and people staying elsewhere. It' will be by the baseball field.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 under the big oak tree - you can't miss it. We request that guests start arriving around 4:00 and that they are settled in their seats (open seating) by 4:20.
We ask that you turn cellphones off during the ceremony as to not disrupt our special day! However, we would LOVE if everyone could take tons of photos the rest of the night and weekend to document the fun! We have a Google Photo album set up and there will be copies of a QR code all over camp so you can add your photos to our album!
Kingsley Pines has more than enough lodging for all guests to stay on site and we'd love to have as many people stay at camp as possible. You'll tell us you want to stay on site and what your preferences are in the RSVP. Payment will be made directly to Kingsley Pines. There are also some nearby hotels and Airbnb is fairly prevalent in the area. This region of Maine is very popular in the summer, so we encourage all guests to book as early as possible. Visit the Travel & Lodging page for more details.
Yes, summer camp is a great place for kids! And if you are staying at Kingsley Pines Camp, kids 12 and under stay for free.
