Maui Sunscreen Ordinance

Please note that the state of Hawaii and the county of Maui have passed laws regulating the sale and use of certain sunscreens to protect the delicate ocean and reef ecosystems. Mineral Sunscreen is the only allowed sunscreen for sale and use on Maui. All sunscreens with active ingredients of oxybenzone or octinoxate are banned from sale or personal use on the island.

Flying to Hawaii

The airport code for Maui is OGG, so please ensure any flights are coming into the correct island! Most flights from the continental US will require a layover, with common layovers in ATL (Atlanta), DTW (Dallas), SEA (Seattle), LAX (Los Angeles), and HNL (Honolulu).

Hotel

Hotels in Kaanapali

We request that guests try to find accommodations in the Black Rock Beach area of Kaanapali in Maui. There are many hotels, condos, and villas in this area that have various room set ups, amenities, and price points. Our ceremony will be located in Wailea (a 40 min drive--transport to be announced!), but staying in Kaanapali allows for more choices of hotels and closer proximity to other activities in Maui.
