Palma de Mallorca Airport

Palma, IB 07611, Spain

When you arrive at the airport, cabs and rental car companies can be found at the end of the long walk through the airport, right outside the baggage claim area. Since Mallorca is a big island with many beautiful beaches and towns to explore, the best way to enjoy it is with a car. We recommend renting one if you can, but also suggest renting a smaller car as many of the roads and parking garages are very tight. If you choose to not rent a car cabs can be used to reach your accommodations and called to hotels as well, but Ubers and other forms of transportation are limited.

Palma de Mallorca

IB, Spain

Palma is a small city but is full of surprises, and we were quite amazed by how much we found there on our first trip to Mallorca. There's lots of fun shopping, incredible food, and beautiful streets around La Rambla. If you're interested in exploring, we recommend driving to the city center and wandering the streets all around it.

Restaurants

Illes Balears, Spain

We always recommend referring to Eater.com and the Michelin Guide for an expanded list of Mallorca's restaurants, but here are some of our favorites: Palma La Bodeguilla This is our favorite restaurant in Mallorca. It has tapas done with a more modern, elevated spin, and is great for dinner after exploring the city. $$ Vandal Another fun tapas bar that puts a creative spin on every dish. $ El Camino A perfect brunch spot for classic Spanish tapas, also great for a day of shopping in Palma. $ Surry Hills If you're craving a little taste of back home, this is a great little Australian café that is an easy stop for coffee, matcha, yogurt, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. $ Restaurants Across the Island Restaurant Nama A delicious Thai restaurant with tranquil vibes and views in Deià. $$ Ca Na Toneta This is a beautiful traditional Mallorcan set-menu experience, but for more adventurous eaters. Also worth a stop for their beautiful shop. $$$

Beaches

We recommend the following beaches if you have time to visit them: Cala Formentor A perfect long sandy beach at the bottom of a beautiful, winding mountain road on the eastern side of the island. This is our favorite beach so we highly recommend making the trip if you have time, but it is best for an early beach day as it is only accessible to the public before 10am. After 10am it is only accessible by bus, so making it early is best! Cala Llombards A picturesque Mediterranean beach on the southern side of the island. This beach is exactly what you imagine Mallorca to be famous for, and as such, can get crowded. Still, perfect for lying on daybeds, swimming, and jumping off rocks. Portals Vells Another beautiful cove on the western side of the island, closer to Palma and the wedding events. Great for quicker trips by car or boat from Palma! Even though these three are favorites of ours, all the beaches in Mallorca are beautiful so you really can't go wrong.
