Things To Do

Some fun experiences in the area, including an abandoned castle, hills covered in sculptures, and the biggest pedestrian bridge in our hemisphere. If you just feel like wandering around a town, Beacon, Cold Spring, Kingston, and New Paltz are great choices. We will be adding some hikes here soon.

Storm King Art Center

1 Museum Road, New Windsor, NY 12553

An astonishing massive open-air sculpture garden. You can ramble over it for miles. Reserve far in advance!

Walkway Over the Hudson

61 Parker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, Highland, NY

Walk over the Hudson on a massive pedestrian bridge! Not to be missed. It can get a little crowded, but it's great for the sunset.

Dia Beacon

3 Beekman Street, Beacon, NY 12508

An art collection housed in a former Nabisco box-printing factory on the banks of the Hudson River.

Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt

4097 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park, NY 12538

One of the best nerdy house tours and Hudson views.

Bannerman Castle

Beacon, NY 12508

Take a kayak trip to a small island on which stands the remote wreckage of a huge castle. We've honestly never been here yet, but it's on the list. If you go, tell us how it was. Probably good to reserve far in advance.

The Spruces Hudson Valley

328 North Street, Newburgh, NY 12550

This is where the wedding is! Don't get lost!
