COVID Update - We're (not-so-secretly) Eloping!

In case you missed our note via email, we've decided to tie the knot in our own way, despite the challenges the world is facing right now. We have updated our website to reflect these changes. If you are able to make it in person we would love to have you! If not, no biggie - we will be setting up a virtual event so that you don't miss out. We will be closing the RSVP by 7/15 so please make sure you record your RSVP through the site if you are coming in person or joining us virtually. Finally, we will be hosting local events in NY and OR as soon as we are able for family and friends who were unable to join us in person. We will update everyone as soon as we can!

We met at the Black Market

Or at least that's what the venue was called...

Memorial Day Weekend in 2016, both of us stuck in the city. We each ventured out to a techno party we knew nothing about, at a venue called Black Market. Lizzie had planned to escape to the Hamptons for the long weekend, but when her plans fell through she and her best friend, Emily, committed to having a blast together in the city. She packed a bag for an all-weekend sleepover, picked up some prosecco and blue hair extensions, and made her way to Ridgewood to kick off the fun. The girls had nothing to do and nowhere to be, so they did some digging and found info on a party in Bushwick that was more expensive than they would have liked but bought tickets anyway. Blue hair extensions in place, the girls stepped out into the night. Alika was hosting a friend's birthday at his apartment in Manhattan, but before he knew it he was the last man standing and the night was still young. He reached out to a friend to see if he could join in on any plans and was told there was a party in Bushwick they were going to. It was a trek, but he put on his shoes, grabbed his wallet, and decided to go along. Lizzie and Emily were having a wonderful time, dancing and chatting with new friends. In a moment of pure chance, Lizzie peeled away and stepped outside to take a break from the noise. Alika saw her and decided to take a chance. "Are you a natural blue?" he asked. She was hooked. Emily came looking for her because she had been gone a while and found her deep in conversation with Alika. A full week later Alika took another chance. "I know it's last minute but my friends are playing some live music tonight if you would like to come." Lizzie had planned on a routine Monday evening, but decided to also take a chance, and said yes. "I have to warn you though, I won't have blue hair tonight. In fact, I'm in a suit." He said, "Good, me too." Lizzie texted Emily with excitement that she was going on a date with Alika, and she immediately replied, "I knew it. He's the one."
