Road Construction

The WI Department of Transportation has begun reconstruction of a portion of US 51 on the East side of Stoughton that could impact travel to The Lageret, primarily from North-bound Interstate 90. The project consists of 3 phases: phase one has just begun and is scheduled to be completed by the end of June. For guests traveling to North to Stoughton from Chicago/Janesville, we recommend that they bypass Exit 156 US- 51 N - the first exit for Stoughton - and continue to Exit 147 CR-N. As they enter Stoughton, at the intersection of N and 51, they will encounter a short detour that is well-marked by the DOT. This detour will lead them back to HWY 51/Main Street Stoughton. The Lageret is approximately 1 mile West of the detour, at 515 E Main Street. I also want to caution that the police are enforcing the road closures and issuing traffic tickets. So please do not attempt to drive through the closed or local-traffic only construction areas. See the photo above that details the area.
