We met in college during the 2019 World Series featuring the Astros and Nationals- Lizetthe is, sadly, a lifelong Astros fan. Izaak was watching game 2 of the series in a mutual friend's room when Lizetthe arrived. It was at that moment that the two caught sight of each other and conversed throughout the whole night. They continued to talk and hang out together around campus. A few weeks later, they were both invited to a mutual friend's birthday party. Coincidentally, Izaak and Lizetthe sat next to each other at the end of the table; they talked and laughed the entire time. During winter break of their sophomore year, the two started to talk as more than friends. Upon their return to campus, they both made their intentions clear that they wished to be more than friends. With the help of 400 rose petals and a box of chocolates, Izaak asked Lizetthe to be his girlfriend on February 14th, 2020. They enjoyed traveling, eating different foods, dancing, going to last chance mass together at St. Vinny’s and singing to countless songs at max volume en route to getting Colombian food on the weekends. Like all stories, they also had their pitfalls. Izaak and Lizetthe were apart for some time. It was a devastating time for both. However, they both knew this time apart would not last forever. In 2022, Lizetthe finished The Basic School (TBS) with some of her greatest friends - you'll meet them at the wedding. At TBS, she discovered that she would be stationed at Camp Pendleton in Southern California. Izaak was in Phoenix, a city located directly on the path to Camp Pendleton. Lizetthe stopped in Phoenix to speak meet with Izaak. They picked up right where they left off and laid out their feelings; the rest, as you know, is history. Lizetthe and Izaak have returned to their old ways; eating, dancing, and traveling. The two traveled to Colombia during the holiday season of 2023. It was there that Izaak met Lizetthe's beautiful extended family; Lizetthe's grandparents fell in love with Izaak. He became the best of friends with Lizetthe's grandfather and the greatest fan of her grandmother's cooking. It was then that Izaak knew he no longer wanted to wait for Lizetthe's hand in marriage. Izaak respectfully asked Lizetthe's dad for his blessing. On April 5th 2024, Izaak proposed to Lizetthe at St. Margaret's Church- Izaak's late mother's name. Their story is one of love, patience, and triumph. Through it all, they have both grown tremendously as individuals, and as lovers. It is their honor to soon share their amazing wedding day with you all.
