We chose Bella Donna Chapel because it is not a "venue". It is a Chapel, consecrated for the worship of God and enjoyed in life's sacred moments.
Fashioned after a 16th-century church in Croatia, the Bella Donna Chapel is the heart of Adriatica Village located in McKinney, TX. On the day they were married, Jeff Blackard (Adriatica's designer & developer) and Donna Blackard (the Chapel's owner and namesake) stood on the ground beneath the existing chapel, said their vows and placed a Bible in the earth. Adriatica was only a field at the time, but Jeff and Donna saw the importance of physically placing the Word of God into the foundation of both their marriage and the community they were building.
On Sunday, December 5, 2021, as we make an oath to each other, we will also be making an oath to God as we stand directly above the Bible Jeff and Donna buried in the ground beneath us.
