Some love stories start with a spark. Ours began with shared shifts, mutual friends, and a slow, quiet build, one that neither of us saw coming at first. We met in 2022 at the Dr. Phillips Center, where we both work as leads. We were friendly in passing and had a mutual bestie, Drew, but we mostly spoke when we were on shift together. We never really hung out outside of work, and for a long time, that was it. That changed on July 3rd, 2024, when Sarah invited Liz to watch her co-worker perform… which accidentally turned into a group hang with every single one of Sarah's coworkers, their spouses, and their friends. It wasn’t the intimate moment she thought it would be, but it still was a great night, marking the beginning of a potential growing friendship. By July 4th though, Sarah realized she wanted to get to know Liz more the just distant friends. Things developed more clearly on July 17th, during a trip to Typhoon Lagoon. It was the first time we held pinkies (yes, pinkies, the most intimate of hand holding). From that night on, we started texting constantly, about music, movies, our favorite things. The more we talked, the more we realized how alike we were. Conversations flowed easily, and what began as casual chats turned into long, late-night talks about everything and nothing. Our friendship deepened quickly, and by early August, it was clear we were and wanted to be more than just friends. Our first official date was on August 4th, a midnight picnic in the pouring rain under a gazebo, followed by a kiss under the neon blowing alley sign. After that, everything moved fast in the best way. We started spending nearly every day together. Even if it meant driving 30 minutes late at night or staying up until 5 a.m., we always made time for each other. It never felt like a chore, it felt like home. Exactly one month later, on September 3rd, Liz asked Sarah to make it official. The setting? The couch. The time? The middle of the night. The romance? Watching Glee. It was spontaneous, silly, and honestly perfect. Since that night, we’ve been inseparable. We’ve built our relationship on shared passions, deep conversations, mutual respect, and a lot of laughter. From holding pinkies at a water park to staying up all night just to be together, we’ve created something truly special. It didn’t take long for us to realize that this wasn’t just another chapter, it was the beginning of the rest of the story. Now, we’re stepping into the next phase of our journey, side by side, ready for everything ahead. From coworkers to friends, to the loves of each other’s lives, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
