Our City - Activities!

The Wedding Website of Liz Jameson and Ross Jameson
Since it's Labor Day weekend and many of you are traveling in for the event, you might as well come a little early to play in our wonderful city! We have included a couple recommendations to help the out-of-town folks navigate and enjoy KC!
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

4525 Oak Street, Kansas City, MO 64111
, (816) 751-1278

Huge, free art museum with sprawling lawn and outdoor sculptures. An absolute must-see in our books.

The Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden

The Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden

4800 Rockhill Road, Kansas City, MO 64110
, (816) 932-1200

Free botanical garden in the middle of the city - a beautiful little oasis!

Union Station Kansas City

Union Station Kansas City

30 West Pershing Road, Kansas City, MO 64108
, (816) 460-2000

KC's original train station, now a site of countless activities and events for all ages, including Science City and the Planetarium.

Old Westport

Old Westport

Kansas City, MO 64111

This is one of our favorite areas for food and just walking around in KC. Also good for going out for casual drinks if that's your thing.

Country Club Plaza

Country Club Plaza

4706 Broadway Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64112
, (816) 753-0100

According to the Plaza tourism website, "The Plaza is an outdoor museum of romantic Spanish architecture and European art where people live and work every day amid its beauty." This is truly some outrageous purple prose, but there is good food and shopping, and there are a lot of fountains down there. KCMO is the City of Fountains after all and most of them are around that area!

Grinders Pizza

Grinders Pizza

417 East 18th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108
, (816) 472-5454

Go eat pizza at the place Ross and I had our first date!! DO IT! It's also just outstanding pizza. Then cross the street and visit Art Alley, the always-changing public museum in KC! Don't forget to bring spray paint!

Jacob L. Loose Park

Jacob L. Loose Park

5200 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64112
, (816) 513-7500

A 75-acre park in the middle of the city! The Battle of Westport took place here! There's a rose garden, a gorgeous pond with bridges, a running and walking trail, playground, and lots of sprawling lawn. This is where Ross and I met up on our first date!

For all the days along the way
