He applied for tourist visas in secret, found a great hotel on Ipanema Beach, and researched the sites and places to see. All the family and friends in-the-know held their tongues. She would've found out the destination at the airport had it not been for that meddlesome American Airlines app! The morning of, Liz woke up to a notification on her phone - "you have a flight to Rio de Jainero today." Wooohooo!! Miles had a few spots in mind as possible proposal locations in Rio. He decided to play it by ear and wait to be struck by inspiration. The strike happened at Christ, the Redeemer. While Liz was in the chapel inside the Christ's pedastal, Miles decided it was time! He got out his tripod, took the ring box out of his book bag and slipped it in his pocket. Liz was completely distracted by the beauty of the place and the capuchin monkeys! It wasn't until his third attempt at setting up the camera for video that she realized something was up! He asked her "Would you make me the happiest man on Earth-" She interrupted, "Yes!" "Would you marry me?" "Yes!" It was a beautifil moment. At the dreamiest, most epic location! Liz never imagined getting engaged in front of God.
