Our Love Story

They met when they both worked at HomeGoods. Liz was originally friends with his sister, Gina, before knowing Mike. They met and Mike said he knew. Liz didn't. She flirted here and there but they were young. Mike was a senior in high school and Liz was a freshman in college. Liz thought, "Whatever, this isn’t serious. He would never like someone like me." He did. From the first moment. On his days off he would bring Liz her favorite drink from Dunkin'. “Whatever” she thought. "He’s just a good friend." They texted everyday. They were best friends. But he was so shy. He never made any move. But neither did she. Liz then went on a cruise, met a guy who knew what he wanted. He wanted her. She loved that. So they dated for a couple months. A couple months of tears and frustration. But her best friend, Mike, was always there for her. He later found out. He grew with anger and sadness. He thought he lost her. But he said he was willing to wait because he knew they were supposed to be together. She eventually broke up with him. Liz told her now fiancée that the reason she ended it was because she had feelings for someone else. "Feelings for you, Mike." She told him. He simply said he did as well. A year of friendship. A year of patience. A year of growth. It was all worth it for both of them. They started dating 4 months after that. Kept it slow. But sweet. Started a year and a half long distance because of college. Liz drove every weekend 3 hours each way to his college in Fredonia while she was in Oswego. After a year and a half he transferred to Oswego with her. 2 years of dorm living and they got their first apartment together off campus. From there on, they were inseparable. This all started Sept 10, 2013. And then January 5 2020 he decided to propose to her. She knew it was on the horizon but never knew it was as soon as they stepped onto their 14 day cruise. It was the best surprise she could have wished for. Forever with her best friend
