As one of the oldest and largest public markets in the country, Reading Terminal has an amazing amount of vendors to explore. Wander spontaneously and see what catches your eye or prepare ahead of time with a quick google search of which food to try while you're there.
We love to bike and biking along the Schuylkill River in June is a beautiful and fun way to spend a couple of hours. Rent a bike at Fairmount Bikes and bike a loop around the river. The west side of the river is even closed to cars on weekend mornings! You can combine this activity with .a trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art afterwards since it is so close by.
Head to South Street's Magic Gardens to stroll through a funky bilevel sculpture garden. When you're done, head east on South Street to do some shopping. We recommend going to Ishkabibble's for a cheesesteak and some cheese fries.
Make your way to the Italian Market for some South Philly flavor. Walk down 9th street from Christian to below Washington Avenue for some great food and people watching. Try South Philly Barbacoa for their authentic slow cooked tacos and check out DiBruno's cramped but charming cheese shop.
There is no shortage of museums in Philadelphia, but if you have a taste for the macabre, then you must pay a visit to the Mütter Museum. It's a medical museum with collections of anatomical specimens, models, and medical instruments.
