AirBnB has a variety of good selections not far from our location. Search near City Park, Navarre, Mid City and you'll be within walking distance from everything. If you prefer a hotel, we recommend a hotel nearby Canal Street, which the Canal Streetcar runs along. Being near the Canal Streetcar would mean you could make it all the way to Bourbon as well as City Park near our wedding ceremony and reception venues.
I know it might sound weird, but we absolutely mean it when we say casual attire and that anything goes. For some perspective, New Orleans had its hottest recorded day ever last summer along with deaths throughout Louisiana from heat-related causes. In July, the high may say 91° degrees, but will feel more like 102° degrees with a Max UV Index of 12 some days. All that emphasize we really want folks to be comfortable. Any colors you like are the ones we want you to wear! The reception Saturday will be inside with air conditioning. Sunday for the ceremony it is planned to be short and later in the evening to avoid the heat, but it will still be pretty warm so plan accordingly.
Some things we recommend to enjoy the beauty of New Orleans (NOLA) include: Water bottle (if you’re drinking—and it’s NOLA, so you’re almost certainly drinking—stay hydrated) Swimsuit (if your hotel has a pool or if you plan to visit the pool somewhere else like the country club) Bottle of sunscreen (or buy it there) Hat with a wide brim for the sun Pair of sunglasses Spare battery charger Your room card from your hotel front desk (any driver can use that to get you home when you’re tired or inebriated)
There will be an open bar with our 3 signature cocktails we have selected along with beer, wine, water, and soda. We will be having Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and Vegan options for the buffet-style meal.
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home. A wedding card box will also be provided at our reception.
