The first time I met Liz we were both at a work event in San Jose. I was headed back to the hotel and Liz was headed to a work party. Before she headed to the party she decided that she wanted to play a game with me and a few others... the game was 'who can make the weirdest noise'. She would judge the winner… interestingly enough, she won. It was definitely a first impression. Following this encounter we didn't cross paths for the rest of the event. Fast forward, six months later, Liz traveled to London to help with Zoom's new UK office. During the trip she attempted to teach me how to dance (with her taking the lead). We would then discover a mutual love of Taking Back Sunday and other bands from the 90's. Whilst in London we were able to spend some time together, just the two of us. I knew quickly that she was someone special and we both agreed we should meet again. Liz left London and flew back to Denver that December. We continued to Zoom, text, email, facetime etc., and shortly before Christmas she sent me a message asking if I'd like to come visit for New Years Eve. I didn’t think twice and booked a flight. Little did I know that we would spend the next 1.5 years traveling back and forth between London and Denver so we could spend as much time as possible together. Our jet setting relationship allowed us to have many great adventures. I eventually moved to the US in February 2019. We got engaged in Vail Colorado following a few attempts to setup the proposal due to location and the occasional adult beverage. We are both excited to spend time with all our guests in Steamboat and are excited to continue our lives together. -James
