Officiant
Semi and Coleman worked together at the robotics labs at Virginia Tech. Several times per week we would have impromptu potluck dinners at each others' houses, which is when he met Liz. Since then, he's moved to Pittsburgh and we've been hanging out ever since. He brews beers (and has quite an official setup for it), likes hiking and camping, and has a spirited little pup named Bojack Horseman.
Co-Best Man
Cory (and Dan) lived across the hall from me freshman year of school, we were roommates for a while, and have had our fair share of mischief. Given that we share the same birthday, we have managed to throw some decent parties together. Cory has met Liz through the several times we have visited each other through the years since graduation, most recently to surprise him at his house for our 29th birthdays.
Co-Best Man
Dan (and Cory) lived across the hall from me freshman year. Dan was always the outgoing one, joining the three of us together for drinks prior to a big concert in Lane Stadium to kick off the new year. We then joined the Blacksburg (snow)boarder's club and spent several weekends tearing up the slopes of Snowshoe, WV - Dan typically pushing me beyond my comfort zone in the terrain park, for better and for worse. He recently started a new consulting company with two other colleagues, and yet he still finds time to visit and host me and Cory throughout the year. Dan has met Liz through his many visits and has shared many laughs and stories with her.
Groomsman
Nik and Coleman also worked together in the robotics labs at Virginia Tech. As President of the Blacksburg Cave Club, he and Coleman went on several cave excursions in the Blacksburg area, which would sometimes include weekend camping and creek floating at the highly esteemed "Bat Ranch". We each custom-built our own quadcopters ('drones', if you must) and would frequently crash them on the VT campus. Nik and his wife Emily also live in Pittsburgh now and have a young daughter, Liesl.
Groomsman
As I am an only child, growing up in close proximity to family meant that my cousin Mark was essentially my older brother. Whether he was giving me life advice or passing forth the brotherly hazing he's endured as the youngest of three, Mark has always filled the brotherly role appropriately. He also has an uncanny ability to make me laugh on most occasions. Mark met Liz at Virginia Tech after a night out on the town - all of us were at Benny Marzano's getting humongous slices of pizza before going home. Liz and Mark have since hung out at the frequent extended family events throughout the years - lake house, beach, skiing, etc.
Groomsman
Again, being an only child, Spencer was essentially my younger brother growing up. Frequent extended family events throughout the years kept us close: a week at the beach, staying a week at his house in Georgia around Thanksgiving, or the Georgia cousins visiting for a week around New Year's. Spencer really likes to hunt, perhaps more than anything else in the world - duck, deer, fish, turkey, big game, you name it. Spencer met Liz while he was in Med School at Virginia Tech, and through several of the family gatherings throughout the years.
