Soon to be Mr. & Mrs. McRae

On November 22nd, 2019, after a mutual friend, Shaw, set us up on a double date for a fraternity function! Liz's best friend, Regan, from middle school, was coming into town and the two of them wanted to celebrate. So Liz asked her friend, Shaw, who happened to know of a party. This party? As it turned out was a semi-formal for the ETPI fraternity (Eagle Scout fraternity), which Alex had planned. With being too busy planning the party, Alex didn't have time to find the mandatory date. Luckily, Shaw sent pictures and a brief description of both girls to the members of the fraternity, where Regan was set up with Nik, who is Alex's best friend. While Alex was set up with Liz, in the group chat by 8 other members of the fraternity, before we met, saying "on paper we seemed perfect"! Turns out they were right, because we immediately hit it off! We danced to 'dancing in the moonlight' and shared our first kiss, which is now also our first dance song! Funny enough, on the night the couple met were telling their friends "they're the one"! Nowadays, Regan is Liz's maid of honor, while Nik is Alex's best man!

Shortly following graduation, the couple went to Iceland for a celebratory vacation! On the third day of the vacation, and driving what is ironically called 'the ring' (which is the coastal highway of Iceland); Alex took Liz on a self-made waterfall tour around east Iceland, our first stop was "Skogafoss" which is a very popular waterfall amongst tourists. After touring that waterfall, we went to a more hidden one right next to it. Once we were up there, Alex asked to take a selfie, which we did until, a 'kind stranger' offered to take a picture, which of course we did. As the picture was being taken, Alex got down on one knee and proposed to Liz on June 26th, 2023! Turns out that 'kind stranger' was a secret photographer who was in plain sight the entire time! The pictures on this website are the same ones the secret photographer took that day!
