let's pawty!

It all started in the summer of '21 when Mike used a pickup line he very carefully crafted to use on Jenny: "This is gonna sound really weird, but I think I already have your phone number...867-5309?" Just like that amazing pickup line, the first few dates were fun and original, including a kayaking date on the Buffalo River. It was a bit of a choppy ride on the river leading to a much colder and wetter trip than anticipated, but neither of us let a little cold water spoil how much we were enjoying each other's company. The date concluded with a quiet dinner in Buffalo's Elmwood Village, both already looking forward to the next time we'd see each other again. As we continued to spend more time together, the next step was for the animals to meet. There was some initial tension as Cheddar (Jenny's cat) had fears that Stryder (Mike's dog) was replacing him as Mac's (Jenny's dog) BFF, leading to them shunning each other at first. But the tension quickly dissipated as they learned that 2 BFFs are better than 1, and so began our adventure together with our little fur family. The love we felt on the first few dates continued to grow and we found in each other not only a soulmate, but a partner to build an amazing life with! Since then, we have enjoyed trips together in Nashville on NYE to celebrate Jenny's 30th, enjoying endless lobster rolls in Cape Cod, exploring new places in Colorado's Garden of the Gods and checking off going to a concert in Red Rocks from our bucket list. We have also survived Mike's journey through medical school, record snowstorms in Buffalo, several skunk attacks on Mac, buying a house together in a crazy market and moving across state lines...and here we are now preparing to celebrate our Best Day Ever with everyone we love! :)

Mike knew that Jenny has always loved a good sunset (she tries to catch one in popular spots in every city she travels to), so of course a sunset backdrop would be perfect for his proposal. Before our dinner by the water on Kent Island, we took a stroll on the beach during golden hour and Mike proposed to Jenny with the sky lit up in gorgeous colors all around them. Then we had dinner with Mike's Aunt Anne and Uncle Jim (our paparazzi) and Mike's parents, and got to surprise them with our engagement too!

We are SO excited to celebrate our wedding day with you!! This day is not only for the two of us, but a chance for us to share our love and appreciation for all our loved ones under one roof! We love you and cannot wait to eat, drink, and dance the night away together!
