Question

Is Cozumel safe?

Answer

Violent crime is more prevalent on Mexico's mainland than on the island of Cozumel, and in either case, is less likely in tourist areas almost anywhere in Mexico. Cozumel visitors are far more likely to encounter non-violent crimes like theft by pickpockets. Honestly, I feel more safe walking around by myself at dark in Cozumel than I do in most parts of Amarillo after dark.

Question

How should I dress for the wedding?

Answer

We ask that you wear business casual but beach appropriate. Our colors are on your invitation, feel free to dress in those colors. Also, this will be a beach wedding and reception so shoes are optional!

Question

What dates should we go?

Answer

We reserved the room blocks from 5/22 to 5/28. You can choose your dates inside those days. If you need to extend, please contact me so I can do a deviation and make sure it’s available. If you are in the wedding, I ask that you are there by the 24th.

Question

When should I book?

Answer

I suggest you book ASAP! There are only so many rooms in the block, once those are gone it’s first come first serve for what’s available. This resort normally sells out quick! You have been warned lol

Question

Do I need to take anything specific?

Answer

Here are my must haves when visiting Cozumel. Bring what you would like. 1. An insulated cup (like a yeti). They will fill it up, it keeps bugs out, stays cold, and is much bigger than the tiny cups they give you. 2. Bug spray and bug bite cream! The sand fleas come out at sundown/night. They will eat you up! 3. Dollar bills for tipping! We always tip and always get great service! 4. Imodium/pepto/tums - that montezumas revenge is no joke! 5. A small speaker 6. Waterproof phone bag

Question

Do I need to bring pesos?

Answer

We do not use pesos. They love American cash! Some places charge a bit more if you aren’t paying in pesos but the hassle to get them and exchange back is not worth it to us. Be careful where you use your debit/credit card. Most places are safe to use them, just use your best judgement.

Question

I’m confused on the booking, how do I do it?

Answer

Call me! I’ll help you do it, or do it for you. (806) 640-2039

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! Kids are welcome. Iberostar has an awesome kids club, but 99% of the things we do the kids can join. This resort caters to both kids and adults!

Question

What’s the plan once we are there?

Answer

My matron of honor is turning 40 on the 23rd so we will be celebrating her that Friday (everyone is welcome to join). Saturday the 24th I will be getting last minute wedding stuff done (if needed) then rehearsal/rehearsal dinner from 5-8 for our wedding party, their guests, and the immediate family. Sunday is wedding day! Wedding will be that evening along with the private reception. The days are a free for all. We will hang out and enjoy a little piece of our paradise!

For all the days along the way
