We met the evening of St. Patrick’s Day 2018 at a local Irish Pub, Tim Finnegan’s. Luck was in the air that day since Merary wasn’t even supposed to be at that event that time of day. I thank her Mexican nature of always being late, and her clumsiness of bumping into me (I think it was planned) for giving us the opportunity to meet. After she “bumped” into me (I also think she was stalking me, creeper) we really hit it off, we laughed, talked about where we are from, interests, introduced friends & danced. We swapped numbers after sharing a few smooches (sorry Mom & Dad) and kept in contact… a lot. A few months passed and I pitched an insane idea to Merary to join me at my family reunion, out of state, for 4 days, full of Walsh’s. She was hesitant at first, but ultimately decided to join me under one condition that I meet her family. I thought to myself, I’m a Walsh, this will be cake! Wrong. Castro’s take the cake on the wild family! After meeting them, she agreed to join me, I knew at that point this girl was rare and the love began to unfold. I warned her my family can be a bit wild, but she fit right in without a hitch! Fast forward, after growing together and falling in love, we decided to make a trip to Ireland for her Birthday. Little did she know what I had planned, I was going to propose! The whole event leading up to it was a mess, wrong ring sizes, multiple failed attempts of asking her parents for her hand in marriage, almost getting busted by TSA & original plans being foiled by weather. Eventually, I was blessed with a perfect opportunity to give it my best and I succeeded (in front of a castle none the less; Guys, take note). All of these wonderful memories lead us to this day, our wedding. We are both blessed to have each other and will continue to grow together & learn to love each other more every day. We are so excited to be able to spend this day celebrating with all of you & we cannot wait to see everyone!
