Welcome to our beginning!

Adriana and Alex met on a dating app. Adriana moved to Philadelphia from Venezuela to study, and she didn't know many people in the United States. After several years in Philadelphia and not being in a serious relationship, they both decided to join a dating app. For Adriana, meeting new people was always difficult because of the language barrier (she was still learning English), and for Alex, because of his busy work schedule. They matched! They talked for a few days and then met for dinner at Sampan. By the end of the night, Alex thought Adriana was very cute and funny and he wanted to see her again the next day. Adriana thought Alex was handsome and different and she wanted to learn more about him. They quickly realized that they wanted to be together, Adriana moved in with Alex, and they have been with each other building a life together ever since.

Adriana's parents were in town visiting from Venezuela and Alex wanted to make it a special visit for Adriana and her parents. He had been thinking about proposing for a while and decided this was the perfect opportunity. So he planned a dinner at one of Adriana's favorite restaurant in the city, Giorgio on Pine, and tricked Adriana into thinking that his parents just wanted to meet her parents. After the meals were ordered, Alex pretended he had to go to the bathroom so he could get the ring out of the bag he wrapped it in and have it easily accesible in his pocket. Before sitting back down at the table, Alex proposed a toast to welcome Adriana's parent and then to the great surprise of Adriana got down on one knee. When he pulled out the ring Adriana was unable to respond right away because she was so shocked. When Adriana finally caught her breath (and said yes), the celebration for the rest of the evening, and for the rest of Adriana's and Alex's lives, began.
