Justin and Sarah met on okcupid. Justin decided to message that cute girl before deactivating his account for the holidays. Sarah had decided to reactivate her account before the holidays but not message anyone until after the new year. Justin messaged her a comment on one of her photos (of her posing with a Rosie the Riveter statue). The message read "I realize commenting on appearances right out of the gate can come across as crass, and could send the completely wrong sort of first impression. But I can't help but mention that you look positively riveting in this photo." Knowing that his pun game was strong, Sarah knew she had to break her own rule and message back "Yeah, I think my cheeks are rather Rosie."
Sarah and Justin met up at Urban Teahouse in OKC. Although Sarah suggested the location, she had never actually been there before. Therefore when Justin drove up, he saw Sarah pacing the street trying to find the tea shop that was actually in the back alley. They talked of their families, their favorite movies, and generally decided the other person was not, in fact, a serial killer and seemed like a person to get to know better. Whether this 2.5 hour long meeting counts as a date or not is still debated to this day.
Justin suggested going to dinner and a movie for their first/second date. When pre-ordering tickets, he accidentally bought tickets for Black Panther which didn't come out for another month. While they picked a movie to go to instead, both were optimistic that they would still be seeing Black Panther also. Sarah took him to her favorite taco place. Little did Justin know that it was, in fact, inside of a Mexican supermarket. While a little out of the ordinary, Justin had to admit that the tacos were quite good, and Sarah thought he looked adorable with cheese in his mustache. They went to The Post, and sat in the theatre throughout the entire credits discussing the movie. That night they both left the theatre eager to see the other again. The rest they say is history.
After several weeks of discussion and planning, Justin decided to make things official. Justin took Sarah out for a nice steak dinner complete with apple pie. Knowing that Sarah prefers low key things, in the parking lot on the way to the car, Justin asked her to be his wife. While on one knee, before he had finished his sentence, Sarah was jumping up and down, nodding, and sticking out her left hand.
