We're getting married!

We met our freshman year at Howard the week before classes started. At the time, we ended up being on the same business team for class and grew to become really great friends. Then the summer after junior year we grew closer while both interning in New York. That’s when the dynamic began to flip to “This could be something.” After 3.5 years of friendship, we took a stab at this relationship thing and it’s been an enjoyable ride ever since.

We became official in January of 2017 prior to our final semester of college. After dating for about 7 months, we moved to opposite ends of the country to pursue our postgrad careers which became the start of a long-distance love. To stay connected, we scheduled FaceTime dates, wrote monthly letters, and traveled across the world to grow our relationship. Four years later, we decided it was time to take a leap of faith and move to the same state. Shortly after that transition, COVID-19 took over the world and somehow brought us even closer together. By quarantining together in a studio apartment, we truly began to appreciate the friendship and love we sustained in our relationship. And then came the proposal...

Twelve days leading up to our four-year anniversary, Ramsey surprised me with a “Déja’s 12 Days of Christmas” scratch-off filled with unique gifts and experiences. On Day 9, we went to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden under the ruse of doing a photoshoot with some close friends we were visiting in Charlotte. When we arrived, I quickly realized that this was the moment I had been waiting for. Once we were inside, Ramsey got down on one knee while our close family and friends watched and proposed. Of course I said “Yes” and balled tears of joy. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Atlanta!
