The year is 2008. Nelson and Lupita are just nineteen years old, studying at the University of San Francisco. Both nursing majors, they meet in the most romantic of settings- skeletons, body parts, brains!! I'm talking, of course, of an anatomy lab class. Study partners turn into housemates. Housemates turn into best friends. Eventually, the years of building a friendship turns into the foundation for a love that will last a lifetime.
Nelson had been looking for the perfect opportunity to ask Lupita to be his wife. That opportunity came in the form of her family reunion. Under the guise of taking family photos, Nelson (the resident photographer) had his camera rolling to capture the special moment. Nelson started to make a speech to thank Lupita's family for inviting him. Standing under the beaming sun, Lupita rolled her eyes anxious to get to out of the heat. Little did she know, surrounded by the natural beauty of Utah and her entire family, Nelson planned to say a little more than "thank you." Instead, Nelson began telling her whole family about his love for her. A few tears from the family later, Nelson finally got down on one knee and asked, "Lupita, will you make me the luckiest man and marry me?" Of course, Lupita's answer was a resounding YES!
