Aley and Isaiah met in the summer of 2024. That summer, Aley’s brother-in-law, Darren, tapped into his matchmaking skills and decided to tell Aley about his work friend, Isaiah. Darren knew they were both hardworking, good people—each previously scarred by love—and thought they might be exactly what the other needed. To keep things casual, he suggested Aley add Isaiah on Snapchat. Isaiah hesitantly accepted… and from there, the conversation never stopped. A couple of weeks later, they hung out for the first time— keeping the casual theme going— there were no big plans and no fancy date. They talked for hours, completely losing track of time. Since it was late and dinner wasn’t part of the plan, Aley made pizza rolls with homemade ranch. A meal that quickly became legendary and is still talked about (and enjoyed) to this day. Aley and Isaiah fit seamlessly into each other’s families, both quickly becoming their soon-to-be in-laws’ favorite child. Aley’s nieces immediately dubbed Isaiah “Uncle Isaiah” and, to this day, often forget to greet their actual aunt—opting instead to ask, “Where’s Uncle Isaiah?” Isaiah is a talented guitar player, and within weeks of that Snapchat add, he sealed the deal with a swoon-worthy (and wildly unexpected) rendition of “Get Low” by Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz. What started as a hesitant Snapchat add turned into late nights, laughter, lifelong friendships, family dinners, and a love neither saw coming—but both are incredibly grateful for and can’t wait to share with you. And here they are now, proving that some of the best love stories start with pizza rolls, a guitar version of an unexpected song, and one very well-timed Snapchat add.
Aley and Isaiah didn’t waste much time talking about their future—marriage, kids, and everything in between. Aley also wasn’t shy about her engagement ring preferences, making it very clear she loved yellow gold and had her heart set on a heart-shaped diamond. Unfortunately for Isaiah, he had already picked out what he thought was the perfect ring… and it wasn’t that. With a family beach vacation quickly approaching—and a proposal already planned—Isaiah found himself scrambling for a last-minute solution. Aley had a feeling he might pop the question during the trip, so Isaiah worked extra hard to throw her off, insisting he still hadn’t found a ring. His suspicious solo trip to Huntsville the day before vacation (claimed to be “work-related”) didn’t help his case. Four days into the weeklong trip, Aley officially convinced herself she would not be entering her engaged era. Her guard was down. During a full-family beach day, she took a long nap—while Isaiah, who may have been Stanley Yelnats in another life, spent the time enthusiastically digging a massive hole in the sand with help from his family. Eventually, Isaiah woke Aley and suggested a walk to wake up. She declined. Confident she was fine. (She was not.) Proud of the impressive sand hole, Isaiah’s mom, Becky, suggested everyone take pictures. Aley hadn’t taken one yet and was still half asleep—truly wishing she’d taken that walk. Then Isaiah’s baby sister, Sadie, asked Aley to take a picture with her, and of course, Aley couldn’t say no. Very fair-skinned and fully committed to sun protection, Aley was wearing a dress over her swimsuit along with several SPF accessories. One could say she looked… prepared. Isaiah suggested she remove her various layers and just keep the dress on—a suggestion she would soon be very grateful for. After the photo was taken, Aley turned around to find Isaiah down on one knee, standing in the hole he’d dug, holding a yellow gold ring with a heart-shaped diamond—and asking the question of forever. Aley immediately said YES.
