How We Met

Tyn: I first met Olivia in passing as I was leaving WENY-TV News in Horseheads, NY. Our shifts just overlapped, as I was working overnight and Olivia was on the day shift. I was really excited to meet her, as I’d seen clips of her. I ran into her as I was leaving one day, gave her a handshake and tried my best to act like a normal human. I must not have made much of an impression, because I’d find out later that she doesn’t remember this interaction. Turns out she doesn’t like normal humans. Weeks later, she was moved to the overnight shift. I quickly felt a bond form and liked learning more about her. I tried to keep things professional, but that didn't last long. Olivia: I had just started my new job at WENY-TV and was training with Christina, when I was invited to go for the habitual trip to Byrne Dairy. That's when I first met Owen. When we got back, we were in an edit bay, and Tyndale walked by on his way out the door. I thought it was funny that they looked alike, but I didn’t know at the time they are brothers.  A couple weeks later, I was moved to overnights, where Tyndale and I were a part of a small team. We bonded during commercial breaks by doing push-ups, and Tyndale whispering sweet nothings (director cues) in my ear. We continued to hangout and talk after the shows. Fast forward a few months -- I was home for the weekend and texted Tyndale about coming back early in the hopes that we’d be able to hangout. He told me there were some plans to go out in Corning to a Royal Tease concert (shoutout to our fellow WENYs). So I came back, we stayed up all night talking, and the rest is history.

About Us

We were both born while our families were living in Syracuse, NY, just a few years apart. Olivia’s brother would end up going to college just down the road from Tyndale’s family home, which was also across the lake from Olivia’s father’s former post at Seneca Army Depot. But our paths didn’t cross until April of 2019 at WENY-TV. After meeting in Horseheads, NY, we moved down to Richmond, VA in the fall of 2020 to be closer to family in Washington, DC. There, Olivia works as a TV reporter for WRIC, and Tyndale has continued spearheading commercial video work for his very own Eleven Lakes Media company. All along, we have had Miss Peppercorn, who Olivia adopted in New York City back in 2018 and has been through a number of moves. She is the cuddliest and most wonderful little fur baby, and we love her dearly.
