Sedona is about a 2 hour drive north of Phoenix and on the way to the Grand Canyon! Sedona is a breathtaking little town with lots of shops, restaurants and some of the most beautiful hiking trails! Sedona is known for its beautiful red rock landscape. This would be a great day trip before or after the wedding if you are making a vacation out of it!
If you know Jesse and I...you know we love nights at the Casino! This is our favorite and when your inside, you feel like you are in Vegas! They have great shows, restaurants and a beautiful resort. This could be a great hotel option during your stay as well. About a 20 minute drive to the venue.
Whether you have been to the desert or not before, the Desert Botanical Garden is an amazing place to walk around. If you are in to landscapes and plant life, this would be a great way to spend a couple hours! It is always really beautiful to go around sunset. Make sure to check the website as they have a forever changing calendar of events!
If you are bringing little ones with you to Arizona...the aquarium is a great place to go to see marine life and have fun with some interactive experiences. Butterfly wonderland is right next door and a beautiful place to walk around while the butterflies surround you!
If you are interested in architecture, you will be able to find pieces of Frank Lloyd Wright all over the valley. Taliesin West was architect Frank Lloyd Wright's winter home and school in the desert from 1937 until his death in 1959 at the age of 91. Today it is the main campus of The School of Architecture at Taliesin and houses the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. Tours are available to book ahead of time.
No matter your age, this is a great way to spend a couple hours...especially if you love music. The Musical Instrument Museum is located in Phoenix, Arizona. Opened in April 2010, it is the largest museum of its type in the world. The collection of over 15,000 musical instruments and associated objects includes examples from nearly 200 countries and territories, representing every inhabited continent.
