Some of the most delicious homemade vegetarian food you'll ever eat, just a few blocks from downtown. Brunch is amazing -- try the "sausage" gravy! -- but you can get a great lunch and dinner here, too.

A great downtown restaurant for special occasions, featuring mediterranean-inspired tapas, appetizers and entrees, plus a great drink menu.
Seabear Oyster Bar
Located in the Bottleworks, previously a Coca-Cola bottling plant, Seabear is serious about the provenance and sustainability of its seafood.
White Tiger Gourmet
Our favorite bbq joint, this little neighborhood spot in the Historic Boulevard District also serves burgers, creamy mac n' cheese and vegetarian options.

Come for the colorful and whimsical decor, stay for the great burgers and shakes (vegan/gluten-free options available). Don't forget an order of basil-jalapeno sauce for dipping your fries!
Trappeze Pub
An excellent choice for a meal and a beverage! Centrally located, 24 beers on tap, boutique wines by the glass, and half pours of beer and wine are available to encourage sampling! Small plates, burgers, sandwiches and entrees.
Last Resort Grill
Originally opened as a music club in 1966, Last Resort Grill now serves Southwestern food sourced from local farmers, growers and bakers.
Five and Ten
Located in Athens' Five Points neighborhood, Five and Ten is the flagship restaurant of two-time James Beard Award-winning chef Hugh Acheson. The menu offers his unique take on Southern cuisine.
Hi-Lo Lounge
Bar and lounge in the Normaltown neighborhood. In addition to beer and cocktails, Hi-Lo has a comforting and varied menu with plenty of vegan/vegetarian options available. They also have an excellent, low-key brunch that's typically a lot less crowded than other downtown locations.
Creature Comforts
Conveniently located downtown in the renovated 1940s Snow Tire building, Creature Comforts was named to USA Today's list of Top 10 New Breweries in 2016. More recently and perhaps more importantly, Thor chose Creature Comforts as his beer brand of choice in Avengers: Endgame. Stop in for a pint or a flight. You can also take a tour.
Terrapin Beer Company
Athens' first commercial craft brewery is a great place to spend the afternoon. $12 gets you a souvenir glass and six 6-ounce "sample" pours. You can also tour the brewery.
