Our Story

Sammi's Side: One crisp fall afternoon I was summoned by a friend to come down to Turtle Bay to watch the Eagles game with a bunch of her friends. When I arrived, I noticed a very cute new face, sitting at the end of the table with his nose buried in a crossword puzzle, apparently completely unaware that a football game was going on in the background. "Who's that?" I asked. "Oh, that's Dave... but he's a vegetarian" she said. "Oh, gross, never mind" I responded. While I helped him finish off his puzzle, something told me not to discount this planteater. Five short months later, Dave casually invited himself to a concert I was attending with friends, where we shared a first kiss. Five months after that, Dave learned I played hockey and decided it was time to actually ask me out on a real date... for a Weird Al concert and dollar slice pizza (where I was told I could order "anything I wanted", even if it was more than a plain cheese dollar slice). Dave's Side: My friends tried to set me up with a girl who moved to NY from DC. We went on a date and had a good time, but realized it was better to be friends. A few hang outs with her later, she brought her friend out to watch a football game at a bar with us. I brought a crossword book in case the game was going to be a blowout (it was). While I worked on the crossword, the girl's friend, an attractive brunette, started helping me out. She was pretty good at it too, which I thought was kind of cool. While there were no crazy sparks, or love at first sight, as the months passed and she kept coming to activities, I started to think I might actually like this girl. Eventually, I kinda forced her to invite me to a "I love to 2000s" cover band concert with two of her other girl friends. When they dipped out early, we had our first night alone. Our relationship was a little bit of on and off for a while after that, but by the end of the year we took the plunge of dating "officially" and haven't looked back since!
