Tyler and I met in the library during the second semester of my first year and Tyler's last year at Liberty. We started talking and eventually he asked me out for a date later in the week so that he could get to know me better. Later that week, Tyler took me to Blue Ridge Bagels where we talked and laughed until the place closed. We liked each others company so much that we started to hang out more on campus. We went to the basketball games, took lunch breaks in the ROT, and stayed in Montview to watch movies together. After a couple weeks we officially started dating and spent every waking moment together... Until Covid happened. After that was when we started long distance.
Thanksgiving break 2021, I was sleep deprived after having to stay up for over 24 hours to get on a plane to see Tyler since our last visit a couple months before. I was thinking we would have a nice relaxing break where we would hang out with his family and I would go home as usual. However, Tyler had some different plans. Tyler decided that we would go to the Christmas Light Show at the Toledo Zoo for a pre-Christmas date. I LOVE to go look at Christmas lights so I was so excited to go!! We got there and walked around, took pictures, admired the lights when Tyler directed me to the huge Christmas tree that is in the center of the park. Tyler all but pushes me in front of that tree for a "picture" and asks a random dad walking by to take a "picture" for us. That is where he got down on one knee and proposed to me. I was crying too hard to even see the ring at first. I was over the moon and so was Tyler. Now the next step is to tie the knot!
