Kate and Michael met at Iowa State in Fall 2014, during the week before classes started. They built a close friendship over the next year. Near the end of that year, mutual friends encouraged each of them to look into something more serious, so, weeks before summer break kicked off, they started dating.

We got engaged on St. Anthony Main in late December of last year. It was cold before accounting for windchill, but we had a fresh blanket of snow. Walter and Steph, two good friends of ours, were in town and were kind enough to take some pictures. (Thanks, you two, for helping orchestrate the whole thing.)
