Alex and Liz met in the most romantic of settings; playing a college party game along side one another back in 2016. When Liz told Alex she was also studying Aerospace Engineering, he was pretty sure he had hit the jackpot. A girl in the aerospace department? What were the odds?! (They were about 7%) After their first meeting began a do-si-do of Alex trying to get Liz on a study date by offering to tutor her in classes he had already passed, and Liz stubbornly dodging the offers wanting to it all on her own. But on the evening of Liz's initiation into Chi Omega Fraternity, Alex invited Liz to a party. No studying, just a fun night of dancing, hanging out with friends, and.. you guessed it: more college party games. By the end of the night, they were smitten. The next day, they went on their first date at Kreuzberg California coffee shop in downtown San Luis Obispo. Alex bought Liz her favorite, an Iced Tuxedo Mocha, and treated him self to a plain black coffee. Liz knew she was looking for a partner who was kind, cute, smart, and, most importantly, funny. Alex was undeniably all of those things. Though Liz remains the funny one in the relationship, Alex is a close runner up according to the author of this section of the website. The two of them became a couple (Or DTR as the young kids say) on February 9th, 2017 and so their journey together began. Since then, they have traveled the world together drinking margaritas in Belize, caring for rescued Elephants in Thailand, and chasing the northern lights in Iceland. They've moved together up and down the west coast together making so many wonderful friends in San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. They love exploring each new city through date nights at the coolest local restaurants, dancing at concerts, and hiking out in nature. Throughout the last 9 years, they have made so many special memories while growing together. Their love is their favorite never-ending adventure that persists through life's toughest moments and erupts joyfully during its best. Alex proposed on a hike along the Ewoldsen Trail in Big Sur, California on October 18th, 2024. For Liz, it was the easiest, long awaited "Yes" in her life. After he popped the question, Alex had a beautiful beach photoshoot planned and took her to one of Carmel's best restaurants, Seventh and Dolores, for dinner. They spent the rest of the weekend exploring, visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and discovered one of their favorite astrophotographers, Gary Lopez. It was the most perfect weekend. They are absolutely ecstatic to be getting married to one another in San Diego this April and to start this new chapter together. You all have been such an integral part of their love story and they cannot wait to celebrate with you soon!
