Rob's Perspective: It was in Judge Pedraza’s Courtroom in Coral Gables where Robert first met Lissette. Ignoring the good Judge’s clear directive that conversations should be kept to a minimum, she was sitting in the back of the Courtroom speaking to a mutual acquaintance. I saw her from across the room – red dress, long dark hair, olive skin – I figured I better go say ‘hello’ to our mutual friend and perhaps catch her name in the process. On approach, there was no doubt in my mind she would be impressed with my legal prowess, suit selection, and public speaking abilities. That was the first day we met. I was interested, but something told me I did not register on her radar... Fast forward a couple months: Lissette and I had a case together. It was an old file; I had not really looked at it as it had been with my former firm long before my arrival, so I needed some time to get up to speed before I was prepared to discuss anything. But boy – was she persistent. Annoying would be an appropriate word. She called me nearly every day. Then she would follow-up those phone conversations with email after email after email. Eventually she pressured me into a settlement before I could really sit down and work on the file; but I made out pretty well when it was all said and done. Eventually, Lissette and I reconnected once that case was complete and I convinced her to meet me out. We had a couple drinks together at the now defunct bar “Better Days” and the rest is history. On September 22, I proposed to Lissette in Paris on the Passerelle Debilly, a footbridge constructed along with the Eiffel Tower in 1899. The tower was lit behind providing the perfect backdrop to a longstanding love story. We are so excited for all of you to join us on February 15 and celebrate this new chapter of our lives together.
