COVID-19 Update

Dear Friends and Family, It is with mixed emotions that must announce we have made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding until December 20th, 2020. We were so excited and ready to celebrate with you all, but the unforeseeable circumstances related to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic have lead us to reschedule. Although we are disappointed to have to postpone the day we have long dreamt of, we feel our priority must be to protect the safety and well being of you- our loved ones, and guests. We hope you understand this decision and we are truly sorry for any inconvenience it may cause. Updated invitations, with our new date and rsvp information, will be delivered to you this Fall. Wishing you all health and happiness in the months to come! With love, Lissette and Paul

How We Met

It's Match Made in Mariner (High School)

It all started the summer of 2008, we were both starting our freshman year at Mariner High School as part of the MST Academy. We were paired up in a group together to "meet & greet" some of our fellow classmates in the program. We found out that we both had a shared interest in alternative music and started talking about some of our favorite bands. From there we then found out that we rode the same bus home and began a friendship sharing headphones and CDs. Throughout high school we stayed friends but, it wasn't until our senior year that our friendship blossomed into something more. Then, after a little help from our friend, and Paul's best man, Alex, things started moving forward and we had our first date. The rest is history. Now after 7 years, nearly 8 by the time we get married, 5 of those years long distance, we are finally taking the next step in our relationship. We truly feel that we have made it work against all odds and are excited to be starting this new chapter of our lives together.

How He Asked

What an unBelizable moment

For the past two years Lissette has been serving in the Peace Corps in the beautiful country of Belize. It had been a dream of Lissette's that Paul could visit her and come to know the country that had become her home. That dream became a reality in February 2018 as Paul and Lissette's little Cheri were able to visit. It was such a wonderful surprise for Lissette to be reunited with Paul for the first time in over 8 months. While they were visiting, Lissette had a full itinerary planned of places to visit and sites to enjoy. One of those sites was the ancient Mayan archaeological site of Xunantunich, a 1000 year old site located deep in the jungle that housed the 2nd largest temple in the country "El Castillo". The adventurer that Paul is, he wanted to climb the 130 foot temple while Lissette was very content to stay on the ground. After much convincing and a nerve-wracking climb they reached the top of the temple and were able to take in the sites of the vast jungles that surrounded them. It was then that Paul wanted to take a picture and Lissette noticed that Paul's heart was beating extremely fast. He said it was because of the climb...but the truth was that he was about to ask Lissette the most important question of his life. He asked her to be his wife at the top of that ancient Mayan temple and Cheri was able to capture the unforgettable moment.
