I met Ciara in 2013 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, slinging seafood and surviving chaos together at Off the Hook Raw Bar and Grill. From day one, we were in sync—like we had known each other forever. We became fast friends—laughing through late-night shifts, sharing stories, and building a bond that felt like it had already been years in the making. Since then, life has taken us to different states, down different paths, but our friendship has never once wavered. No matter the distance or what life throws our way, Ciara has always been my constant—my sounding board, my cheerleader, my sister in every way that matters. Ciara is my book buddy, travel partner, fantasy football girl, my laugh until you can’t breathe friend, and fellow foodie. She’s a loving wife, an incredible mom to her two sweet boys, Peyton and Grayson (who I proudly call my nephews), and one of the most talented people I know. I am endlessly grateful for the way Ciara shows up—with kindness, honesty, and unwavering loyalty. To have her standing by my side as I marry the love of my life feels like the most natural, beautiful thing in the world. I couldn’t do this day without her, and truthfully, I wouldn’t want to do life without her either.

Ben and I met through mutual friends at a college gathering. Even though the combination of alcohol and clumsiness damaged his apartment that night, we still became friends. Over the years we spent many weekends doing what college friends do. Late nights out, parties in Milstead apartments, and lake weekends. This large group of college friends slowly got smaller as people moved away, started families, or went on different paths. Even though the group got smaller Ben and I still remained friends and grew closer. There are only a few friendships you have in your life where you have this type of bond. We think on the same brainwaves and have no trouble finishing each other’s sentences. I know that he will always be there as a true friend even though his labor and construction expertise may be exploited at times. With all the late nights and early tee times, Ben has always been my number one and a half, (closely behind Lish).
