Sooo Bill and I technically met in 2016. At the time, my family and I had just returned home from vacation. Not only did we bring back our memories but we also unknowingly brought home some….“less-savory” travel friends too *gross*. I was oblivious to the situation but I knew that in order to get rid of our new bed bug friends, we needed to contact a Pest Control company. My mom was the one who called, she was around for the inspection etc., etc. She was so happy with the service we received that she decided to keep the pest control company around to continue servicing our home throughout the year. Bill and I passed each other numerous times at this point exchanging simple, friendly hello’s. Little did I know I was nonchalantly walking by my future husband with no care in the world! Wow, Liz! One day, after Bill had finished servicing our house, my mom and I were sitting at our dining table when she looked at me and said, “Hey don’t you think Bill is so nice? He’s pretty handsome too, you know! Gosh, you guys would have such good looking kids!” Me: no response. The conversation was dropped for a while as I had never really noticed him. But little did I know, it was then that our little “matchmaker” was hard at work. I will never forget when my mom told me she had casually mentioned to Bill that he should ask me on a date. I was so embarrassed and the worst part was that I learned, he just shook it off and was not interested *cringe*! More time went on, then things changed a bit.. I started noticing things, things like his beautiful eyes, that blonde hair and his genuine smile (of course, when he finally took off his sunglasses and hat). It was then that I started asking when he would be coming to service the house. I would try be around days I knew he would come over and I would sit waiting in the dining room, in hopes he *may* need to come in and talk to us. Then suddenly, we noticed this exterminator guy was sitting at our table talking with us for 1-2 hours after every service. Weird right? My mom had offered to cut Bill's hair in the past and one day he finally took her up on the offer. During the cut was when my mom proceeded to ask Bill, “Hey so when are you going to ask my daughter out, she’s not going to be single forever you know, someone else is going to come snag her up!” Bill's response almost made my mom drop to the floor. She had always made those comments light heartedly *if you know mom, you know how she jokes* But I do not think she was ready for his response which was, “I think I will”. After our first date Bill and I were inseparable. We wanted to spend every moment together and found such great partners in one another. He is my bestfriend and teammate. When the COVID shutdown happened, Bill and I quarantined together. We learned how to make sourdough bread, we also started to grow a garden in the backyard; the same garden he would later use as the spot to propose to me. I’ve watched Bill build his own company in the middle of a global pandemic when there was so much uncertainty and where he showed me first-hand his hardworking, dedicated and determined side that just made me respect and admire him even more than I already did. We have worked on so many projects on our home together already and continue to work on perfecting every detail. I truly could not imagine a more kind, genuine, patient and loving person to share my life with and all experience these amazing adventures with. A favorite thing of ours to say is, “If you would’ve told me…” and man, IF YOU WOULD HAVE TOLD ME I would fall in love with my exterminator, I would’ve said, what, no way! ... but here we are now and I count my blessings everyday for that.
