Picture this- you're a night shift nurse working in the intensive care unit. That particular night some of the doctors are being a little more annoying than usual. You wonder who would ever date these people! You're sipping coffee at 2AM when this resident comes up to you. You think, "oh, great what is he going to want to do with my patient?!". He smiles & says "Hi! how's your night going?" You try to answer, but get distracted by the most perfect beard you've ever seen. You two carry a conversation. Eventually, all of your nursing friends know you have a crush on him. They swear he's obsessed with you too (he still denies that, but that's not the point). Theres chemistry. One of your friends asks him for his number & gives it to you. You text him after some tequila & courage & the rest is HISTORY!

Imagine you are at work in the middle of the night in the ICU. You don't love it but you don't want to spend any more time there than you have to. Then you notice Lis and you decide you need to work more nights in the ICU and stop by there early in the morning before the shift ended, for patient care of course. You remember being impressed by the care she provided the patients but blown away by her generosity, her kindness, and her beauty. Our first date was at Billy Sunday, and it unexpectedly progressed to Mezcaleria Las Flores and then a random tree on Kedzie Boulevard. I knew from that point on that this was who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
