Hezekiah and Lisa's journey together began in 2013 at Kalakaua Middle School, where their first impressions of each other were far from ideal. Both found the other to be annoying, and neither could have imagined that they would one day become best friends, let alone life partners. However, as time passed, their initial animosity gradually gave way to a deep and enduring friendship. By the time they reached high school, this friendship had blossomed into a romantic relationship, one that would endure the ups and downs of adolescence and the early years of adulthood. They continued to date throughout high school and some college, even surviving a challenging year and a half of long-distance separation. Despite the many obstacles and pressures of growing up, Hezekiah and Lisa remained steadfast in their commitment to each other and their faith. They leaned on God for guidance and trusted in His timing, believing that their love would prevail. Their love story is one of perseverance, growth, and unwavering faith, and now, after years of waiting and being patient, Hezekiah and Lisa are preparing to be married on April 7, 2025. This special day will mark the beginning of a new chapter in their journey, as they become one flesh under God, surrounded by the love and support of their family and friends.

HOW DID HE PROPOSE? (Lisa's POV) "Fresh" off the plane on a friends' snowboarding trip, Racquel, Jace, TJ, Bekah, Royce, and Annalea cleverly planned a visit to Leavenworth, a charming Bavarian village. I was excited to join, especially with the promise of eating at a nearby Mexican restaurant afterward. When we got to Leavenworth, we were walking and came across a horse carriage that rode around the town and was planning on taking a ride. I didn’t find it odd that Anna led me away from the group to take pictures or when TJ brought his camera along, I was clueless. Heze, Jace, Racquel, and I then went on the awkward carriage ride, learning about the town's history. Near the end of the ride, I noticed TJ and Bekah taking photos and recording, but I remained clueless as I smiled and waved at the cameras. When Heze told me to leave my things in the carriage as we walked towards a gazebo, I still didn’t catch on until I saw the roses and immediately started tearing up! We walked together to the center of the gazebo our friends cleared out for us and Heze got on one knee and proposed. After the proposal and celebrating with friends, I was overjoyed and completely surprised to see my sisters, nieces, and brother-in-law join us. It was the perfect proposal! WHO MADE THE FIRST MOVE? Technically, Heze made the first move when he texted first, but Lisa was the first to admit she liked him... WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST DATE? Our first date was at Fun Factory at Kam Shopping Center lol! WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE ACTIVITY TOGETHER? Recently, we've been enjoying cooking together and finding new recipes to create with each other. WHAT SONG BEST REPRESENTS YOUR RELATIONSHIP? Lisa would say Hailey by Justin Bieber, but Hezekiah would say Best Love Song by T Pain. THE DORKIEST THING ABOUT US IS… We both love listening and dancing to Justin Bieber (believe it or not).
