They first met at the library in 2008. Isaac thought Lisa was annoying, and Lisa hated Isaac's highlights. Only after going to the same youth group for 4 years, serving in the same praise team, having the same friends, and going through life's challenges together, did they realize what was right in front of them in 2012. The most unlikely couple: the rebel and the goody two-shoes, the skater boy and the princess, the giant and the mouse. They really are the most unlikely couple, but no one around them can deny the powerful, beautiful love that they share. As an elementary school kid, being forced to watch this relationship unravel so slowly was the hardest thing I have ever had to do during my childhood.
One day, I saw Isaac texting a lot. I snuck a look over his shoulder and saw he was texting Lisa. One day, I saw Lisa texting a lot. I snuck a look over her shoulder and saw it was Isaac. Thats when I thought to myself..."smh, these two". Soon, my two best friends told me how they were interested in each other as I awaited my fate of being a third wheel. When it finally went down, they were the best two wheels a third wheel could ask for. I witnessed it all. I mean ALL. There were good times and hard times, but they made it through them all. They're both better because of each other. WHO WOULD'VE KNOWN THIS TRICYCLE WILL MAKE IT THIS FAR!
The proposal was at a little park on the Hudson River. The spot looked across at the New York skyline, a symbol of their new life together in the city. Isaac chose the perfect place. Isaac entrusted Audrey and I with two simple jobs: 1) Hang up a sign that said, "Hey Lisa, 7 years was great and all but how about a lifetime?" 2) Clear out the area for Isaac and Lisa to have their moment. Somehow, we managed to mess it up... When Isaac was ready to pop the question and walked Lisa to this perfect spot, an unsuspecting grandpa also decided that this was the perfect spot to admire the beautiful outline of New York. The future before them, the world behind them. The last thing that was standing in the way of their future... was that one old grandpa.
