Throughout the years, Lisa and Damon crossed paths numerous times at many industry shows, joint collaborative projects, company meetings, and product testing sessions; always enjoying each other's good company and rewarding discussions. However, their love story didn't begin until they started working together in May of 2016. Damon had started his own company a few months prior and was looking for the perfect partner to join him on his mission. He kept coming back to Lisa, for whom he held a deep respect. Her talent and work ethic made her someone he definitely wanted on his team. Damon asked Lisa to take a chance on him, and join his newly launched company. She also saw something in Damon and admired his drive so she accepted his offer. They made a perfect partnership and the company flourished. However the company wasn't the only thing blossoming.... In just a few short years, they shared so many great experiences...foggy nights in London, hiking tropical mountains in Brazil, exploring snowy hillsides in Canada, and quiet walks roaming the streets of Mexico. Love bloomed like a perfect rose...They had found their soulmate!
When Damon first decided to ask Lisa to marry him, it didn't really go as planned. Lisa was completely oblivious! Damon would plan something special, get everything setup but somehow the moment wouldn't be perfect, so he'd bail out and try again. We'll spare you the lengthy details of all the failed attempts, but know that Damon carried the ring around for 4 months like it was a POW (that's Prisoner of War for you non-military folks). Moving it from place to place so that Lisa wouldn't find it before the time was right! This one overcast morning, Damon insisted on going to Deb and Serge's place to check on the boat. Deb and Serge weren't home as they were vacationing in Canada, so Damon planned a quiet breakfast on the dock. Breakfast was good! They had shrimp and grits (Damon's favorite) and sipped coffee while watching the sunrise. In that perfect moment, Damon jumped up into the boat and disappeared behind the canvas liners. He called for Lisa to help him, but she denied, so Damon called again, but this time with a long PLEEEAAASSEEEE??!! Lisa sighed and unwillingly climbed into the boat (it was too early for his shenanigans). She swung the canvas liners behind her, and found Damon on one knee with the ring and two dozen roses! That moment was so very special, and of course Lisa cried YES!! We're so excited to celebrate with you, and can't wait to see you all in our small town of Hartwell!
