Our Story is a one of a kind.

October 27th 2019 it was official!

Some meet in a bar, some in the coziness of a Cafe, some through a trusted friend and well our story doesn't really have a concrete answer. It is clear that our friendship started on a ball diamond, which we're sure comes with no surprise attached. Sparks ignited the night Tony dressed as a red faced Devil in a suit and tie, and Lisa a sleek Cheshire cat with a pink feather boa. Lisa knew all was right with the world, when Tony asked her "Have you ever danced with the Devil in the pale moon light?", a classic line spoken by the Joker (Jack Nicolson) in the iconic 1989 film, Batman. How could Lisa turn down a chance to share a dance under a bright Halloween moon while a cool, misting rain poured. Talk about romantic! Our official adventure as a couple began that night, and we couldn't imagine living this life with anyone else by our side.

The Proposal

April 8th 2023

We were on our way to Owen Sound to visit Tony's parents for an Easter celebration, which is about 2 hours away from our place. Although it was a fairly mild day when we left, we were glad to have worn our winter coats, as it started to blizzard the closer we got to our destination. It's not uncommon for us to make a few pit stops along the way, and our first stop was Mary's Browns for lunch. We grabbed a quick bite, and carried on. I would say we had been driving for maybe 8-10 minutes after leaving Mary Browns, when Tony said " Oh crap, we are going the wrong way, we were supposed to turn left out of Mary Browns, and I turned right. " Now if you've ever travelled with Tony, you know its not uncommon to make at least one U-Turn, miss your exit, or hear, "I've just gotta get my bearings" or "I just need to recalibrate". My response at this time was "Common man, you gotta get it together, every time we go somewhere this happens, this is your neck of the woods and I am trusting that you know where you're going." "Its fine, I know where we are, we just have to come into town through a different way" Tony said. At this time we had been driving for about an hour and a half, and I just wanted to get there. Tony- "There's some country road up here, that we can let the dogs out for a break, then we will continue on to my parents". "As long as we get there, thats the main thing" I said. We were about to pull over, when I got a bit nervous, as it looked like we were going to pull over and let the dogs out on someones private farm land. The last thing I needed was an altercation with a gun happy countryman. Tony reassured me that the property next door was public domain and that everything would be fine. We pulled over and as usual we both got out, Tony took Sunnys leash and I took Gypsy's. I wandered letting Gypsy do her thing, and then I had the sudden urge to look around at where we even were. I looked up and saw, the tiniest church you have ever seen. It looked like it was made for hobbits in the shire, or fairyland creatures. I shouted, "Hey Tony, look at how cute this tiny church is, imagine if we got married in there?" As I turned to look back at Tony, he was already down on one knee with ring in hand, the blizzard still upon us. "Thats exactly what I was thinking" he replied. Lisa- "What the hell, we aren't lost at all, you knew EXACTLY where we were going the entire time. Well I guess I better let you finish your proposal, and I should reply with a yes, and then you should put that ring on my finger or something". "Well, that was easy, will you marry me?" Tony Said. She said, "Yes!"
