What is the dress code exactly?

Answer

Country casual or country semi formal; we are in a beautiful barn so we encourage you to enjoy by dressing in your best country style. If you are a bit more rock and roll, we'll understand that too. Our colors are rainbow so we encourage you to wear colorful clothing that you feel comfortable in. This could be one color or many colors depending on your preference. We are a diverse and multifaceted family that welcomes everyone and we wanted to reflect that in our color choices.

Why is the reception the night before the wedding?

Answer

It is a Lakota tradition from Lisa's side of the family to have the reception the night before the ceremony and it worked well for both Lisa and Lu's schedules.

Why is the wedding ceremony private?

Answer

Lisa and Lu decided on a small ceremony as the location for the ceremony is not very big and they quickly realized they have so many friends and family that want to celebrate with them. It was decided to have a small wedding but a bigger reception for these reasons.

Why didn't you do a traditional registry for gifts?

Answer

Both Lu and Lisa have an abundance of stuff from 15+ years of living on their own. Your presence is the best gift we could ask for; if you would like to give a gift, we are saving up for expanding our family and buying a home. We appreciate any size of contribution toward those goals and set up a place on our website to contribute toward those goals. There will be a box for physical donations at the reception if that is your preference.

Will there be alcohol at the reception?

Answer

Sorry, but no. Wheeler Farm does not allow alcohol or tobacco on the premises.
