You will literally and figuratively miss the boat! The boat leaves at 6:30pm. Don't be late!!
There will be a shuttle departing from the Best Western & Delta Hotels at 5:25pm and 5:45pm. The shuttle will return to the hotels at 9pm, 10:30pm and 12am. Please do not drink and drive. If driving, we recommend trying to park in the Foam Brewery (112 Lake Street) parking lot (free on weekends if there are spots), which is about 0.2 miles from the Spirit of Ethan Allen. Coincidentally, this is where Lisa and Larry first met. The optional afterparty will be here! The Spirit of Ethan Allen does not have their own parking lot, as there is limited real estate along the Burlington waterfront. Please know that the price of parking has nothing to do with the Spirit. The lots along the waterfront and in Burlington are all privately or publicly owned. The closest parking lots to us are the Pease Lot, the Echo Lot, and the Main Street Landing Lot. There is also metered parking along College Street and Lake Street near the boat. Please check out www.parkburlington.com for information and rates and check out their interactive parking map! ParkMobile is a wonderful app that allows you to pay with a credit card (and recharge from afar!) even on the old meters.
The Purple Line City Bus picks up from the waterfront right by the ship every thirty minutes. It also makes stops by the Church Street Marketplace as well as UVM, so you can ride it from one exciting destination to the next! Please visit this website to see the time table of the Purple Line City Bus: https://ridegmt.com/ ** **Schedule subject to change per Green Mountain Transit.
The ceremony will take place on the bow of the boat (weather dependent), which would require navigating a flight of stairs. The reception will take place on the Admiral deck, which is accessible. See the Spirit of Ethan Allen's website for more information regarding accessibility: https://soea.com/accessibility/
There will be a very limited amount of seats available for those who need to sit for the ceremony. Please be sure to respond that you need a seat when you RSVP.
Your guess is as good as ours. We're hoping for warm spring weather with clear skies for a good sunset, but it could be cooler. The ceremony will be on the bow of the boat, weather dependent. The boat will be moving so plan for a breeze. The reception will be enclosed on the lower deck of the boat.
The boat goes out rain or shine! They have both indoor and outdoor seating to suit the needs of the passengers. In cases of severe weather, cruising is at the captain’s discretion. The captains are highly trained to cruise in all sorts of weather, but if they feel unable to provide a safe trip for the guests, we will still party on the docked boat.
Maybe! Keep an eye out for it on Lake Champlain!
