How We Met

EHarmony

Little did we know, January 30, 2018 (the day we exchanged numbers) would be the beginning of our story together! It was both our first time trying on line dating. So there I was posting my profile and all the things I liked to do and for some reason I checked that I would be interested in out of town dating but really I did it because I never saw anyone that I found interesting locally. Then one day I got a message from Lisa that simply said hello. Through numerous chats on the E Harmony site we found out the one thing we had in common was that we both were raised in church. So the first lol message that Lisa replied back to me was when I joked about being at my grandmothers church when I was kid tarrying for the Holy Ghost til my jaws was tired, mouth dry only for my grandmother to say you didn't get it lol. So as they say the rest is history. We exchanged numbers on January 30th! We began speaking on the phone and texting and next came our first date. We decided to meet "in the middle" as we now call it. Lisa lived in Indianapolis and I lived in Louisville. So we discovered that Columbus Indiana was exactly one hour for each of us to drive. So we met at 4th Street Grill, I had seen pictures of Lisa on the Eharmony site but seeing her in person just blew me away but I played it cool. We had dinner and we talked for several hours!!! We talked life, family, previous loves and everything in between. I think we both were smitten with each other and it showed as I walked Lisa to her car. We paused at her car, made small talk and then we said goodbyes and thats when it happened. The BEST hug ever!! And we have been inseparable every since. Numerous trips back in forth from Indy for me and numerous trip back and forth from Louisville for her. I love this woman, she loves me, we love each other. On Saturday May 23rd, 2020 this woman, Lisa Renee Cosby will be my wife.

The Proposal

June 23rd, 2019

On one of my trips to visit Lisa in Indy, we had breakfast with her Dad. During breakfast I professed my love for Lisa to him and asked his permission to marry her. Of course she was shocked because she didn't know that was coming! I knew as soon as I made the decision to propose that I wanted to do it at the place that she loves most, her church. Unbeknownst to her I contacted someone, in audio visual and told her of my plans. The Pastor eventually gave me the okay and I began to put my plan together. I created the invites to send to as many of Lisa's family members that I knew and to my immediate family as well. I made a reservation at our favorite restaurant, The Garrison! All I needed now was for June 23rd to get here and for Lisa to say YES!
