Our story began the fall semester of our freshman year at Le Moyne College. A casual dorm room party in the basement of Nelligan Hall sparked the beginning of our friendship. After two years of college adventures, study sessions, meals in the dining hall, (and plenty of flirting!) our friendship was taken to the next level when Kyle finally asked me to be his girlfriend! Who would have thought that nine years later that boy in Nelligan Hall would soon be my husband?! The last nine years have been filled with so many amazing milestones - moving to Denver, CO, getting our first apartment together, traveling the country, moving back to New York, getting our first puppy, and so many more. Kyle and I are so grateful for the memories we've made together, and the family and friends that we get to share those memories with! We cannot wait for all that the future holds.
Kyle and I went to Washington, D.C. for my 28th birthday. On the day of my birthday, we came across this beautiful park, Rawlins Park, that was filled with magnolia trees in full bloom. We had the park to ourselves with the exception of one woman who was taking photos of the blossoms. After posing for a selfie amongst the flowers, Kyle dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After I said yes, I learned that the other woman in the park was actually a photographer that Kyle had hired to capture our special moment. Thinking the surprises of the weekend were over, we continued to explore D.C. and bask in all our joy and excitement. Little did I know, Kyle still had a few more surprises up his sleeve. The next night, after claiming to have called an Uber, Kyle escorted me to a limo that was waiting outside our Airbnb to drive us to dinner at Le Diplomate. I was absolutely speechless when we arrived at Le Diplomate and saw both of our families waiting for us to join them for dinner. Kyle coordinated with our family members from all over the country so that they could be there to celebrate our engagement. It truly was the most romantic and magical weekend of my life. How lucky am I?!
